My name is Jordan and I am a Senior at UGA studying psychology. I plan on going to graduate school, but I am not exactly sure for what yet. I took Professor Berle’s organic gardening class last semester and I honestly cannot think of a better way to spend class time than on the farm.
Hello everyone, my name is Rebekah and I am a Junior at UGA pursuing a major in Chemistry and minor in Horticulture. My goal is to become a high school teacher after receiving my Master’s in Chemistry. However, I have always loved plants and gardening so through this internship I hope to gain more understanding and experience growing food organically. Looking forward to a great semester!
Hello, I’m Ty Brooks and I’m joining the UGArden intern team this semester. I’m in my second year of the Master of Agricultural and Environmental Education program and I’m also working on obtaining the Organic and Local Food Systems certificates. I am originally from Athens, GA and I have worked in a number of horticulture and wildlife related jobs over the years. I love farming and gardening, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity of spending time outside on the farm as a break from the classroom and my thesis work. See you at UGArden!
My name is Joseph Nawrocki, but you can simply call me “Joe”. I’m a senior studying Environmental Economics and Management, with a certificate in Sustainability. I grew up in Huntington, WV and Kennesaw, GA, spending most of my time outdoors. My hobbies include climbing, camping, running, biking, cooking and binge watching Netflix. I do not have extensive experience in gardening, but I always loved working with my Grandfather on his small farm in Monroe, GA as a child. I look forward to a fruitful semester with all of you!
Hello everyone! My name is Annika and I am a senior majoring in Horticulture with an emphasis in sustainable food systems. This spring I will be an intern at UGArden. I have past farm-work experience from the UGArden Club, Williams Farm, and Baker Springs Farm. I am beyond excited to get my hands and clothes dirty as I expand my knowledge on growing food to benefit the community.
See you in 2017!
Hey all, I’m Nick and I’ll be the new intern this spring. I’m a senior majoring in Horticulture with an interest in field production and management. I look forward to be out at UGArden and learn new things. Ready to plant some veggies and get my hands dirty!
UGArden requires a lot of hard, necessary work, but it is important to occasionally take a breather and appreciate just how beautiful the entire project is.
