Y’all, we’ve got some fertile soil out here at the Ugarden! I took a sample yesterday and measured the Phosphorus levels today in my Soils and Hydrology lab.

Long story short, in the most non-technical terms possible:

I mixed the phosphorus extract from the soil sample—a solution containing dilute HCL and H2SO4—with a reagent containing Molybdate (MoO4) which has the potential to turn the solution a nice shade of blue if a good amount of phosphorus is detected…and it was! WOO.. so yeah pretty exciting, right?!!

Props to the Ugarden peeps keeping up the quality of the soils.
