When the ground is so wet you stuff your back pockets with straw to keep dry while you weed.
Just Edna.. being the boss that she is.
Today was a different day…. we work a lot with Dr. Hartel and the mushrooms he spoke of the mushrooms in professor O’connell class and the students… and I had the opportunity to inoculate logs.
and we can not leave apart professor Berle and his tractor classes… very funny and every day improving his spanish 😀 !!
Last Thursday I went on a fun adventure with Lindsay and Dr. Berle into the woods! Berle chopped up some logs and we loaded them into the Polaris to trim and stack up. The logs will be inoculated for mushroom production later on. These guys were REALLY dense, but we got them all stacked and ready to go!
Last week we harvested a lot of collards and cleaned them in the kitchen since it was freezing cold outside. I had that dang SchoolBoy Q/Lamar song stuck in my head the entire time, of course…. Well anyway, it was a fun time, met some new volunteers and got to work with cool people 🙂 Most of our harvest went to Campus Kitchen, too, which is always nice to know as you’re working.
