Tuesday this week we harvested some of the baby ginger… roughly 13 pounds of it. It was very damp and so it was quite a muddy job. Then we put it on the table in the picture to clean it off, break apart large clumps, and snap off the roots.

We had to wash them off after the preliminary rinse, but look at what a huge difference that one rinse made! Also look at how dang pretty those ginger rhizomes are! They were purple-ish near the top. Also they smelled AMAZING. It was cold and wet and muddy but in all, a pretty fun job.
