Without doubt, these are my favorite of all peas. They’re fun to shell, even though I learned that some of my fellow UGArdeners don’t like them. Shelling them evokes memories of my childhood as my mom and sister would shell peas for us and our neighbors.
These peas are very well suited for the South because they thrive in the heat and seem to attract very few (if any) pests. There are several ways to cook them, both traditionally and modern, but they’re also very tasty eaten raw!
